The Stage Upstairs

He built a stage upstairs,
a small room dressed as a theater,
where his voice echoed,
and he pretended to speak with strength.

He spoke loudly,
as if to prove he was not alone,
as if to show he was in control.

But then, from below,
a song rose —
a mother’s voice,
a child’s laughter,
a melody of truth.

The stage cracked.
The illusion faltered.
The voice of joy drowned the voice of pretense.

He fell silent,
not because the play had ended,
but because the audience had seen through the mask.

The lesson:
Deception cannot survive against laughter.
A staged life collapses when joy interrupts.
And sometimes, the simplest song
is enough to reveal the truth
that arrogance tries to hide.
